Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

SolidBlock is looking for a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs and contracts related to our high-end construction and renovation projects. This role demands a high level of accuracy and financial acumen, ensuring project profitability and cost efficiency while maintaining SolidBlock’s stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects from conceptual stage to final completion.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for new projects.
Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQ), and participate in the tendering and procurement process.
Evaluate and negotiate variations, claims, and final accounts with contractors and suppliers.
Manage contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
Monitor project expenditures against budget, identify potential cost overruns, and propose corrective actions.
Liaise effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and project teams on all cost-related matters.
Prepare progress payments and financial reports for ongoing projects.
Maintain accurate records of quantities, costs, and project financial data.

Requirements

Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the building construction sector and with exposure to high-value projects.
Strong knowledge of construction costs, procurement strategies, and contract administration (e.g., PAM, JKR conditions).
Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, project management tools).
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., RISM) is a plus.

RM1,500- RM3,500
